Nick Varcity is an independent hip-hop artist from Detroit, MI. Growing up in the 90’s or “the golden era” made it hard for Nick to deny falling in love with the craft. Some of the greatest MC’s of all time including the likes of Common, Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G, Slum Village, Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def and many more helped mold and groom the mindset of Nick as a kid. From rapping in groups to a solo path Nick has always been able captivate his listeners with his delivery and content. In 2010 he released his debut project “Cashmere City”. In 2011 he followed up with a very raw project “Avid Listener” where he displayed his lyrical skills slaying a mixture of in-house and industry instrumentals. Nick Varcity’s latest body of work, “Cashmere Thoughts” was released May of 2013. Nick’s sound is very smooth and melodic. “cool music” is the moniker given to describe his genre of music by his listeners. Lately, Nick has been heating up as he performed in the 2015 South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, TX along with the 2015 North By Northeast (NXNE) Music Festival in Toronto, CA. The now international act is currently taking advantage of this up-rise with a very energetic project in “Louis The Thirteenth” along with a catelog of cinematic visuals directed by fellow Y.A.C.H.T Club Republic member, Filmmaker Donavan Glover. In 2010, Nick decided to create a company that would house his brand and enable the creative space that all artists search to find in a company. The comapny is known as Y.A.C.H.T Club Republic LLC. The word “Y.A.C.H.T” is an acronym that stands for Young And Creatively High Talent. Y.A.C.H.T Club Republic is a multifaceted creative society brand. Our objective is to positively influence society through Art in the forms of Painting, Music, Grooming, Fashion and Media. In 2014, The Company was able to obtain a Publishing license from a PRO/Performance Rights Organization called ASCAP which has solidified Y.C.R as a Publishing Company.
